As a co-operative, we depend on our volunteers to keep us running! We hope to create a community in which all of our customers give back a little time to share in the co-operative spirit. So, if you'd like to join us, or even just help out every now and then on a Thursday/Friday- sign up below or follow this link. You can dedicate as much or as little time you like, and sign-up is on a weekly basis with no long-term commitment - we look forward to seeing you!
It's great fun and you get to hang out with lots of other food loving OxCo-opers! If you have any other questions, feel free to email email@example.com and we'll get back to you.
If you have volunteered regularly with us, you will be entitled to a 10% discount on Ox Co-op produce via our website, if you needed any more persuading! We also hold a termly social for our volunteers to thank you for all your hard work, and eat some lovely Ox Co-op food.
How can I get involved?
There are several different shifts which you can sign up for. We sign up per week so, just sign up when it suits you (there will be a co-coordinator on every shift- so no need to worry if you don't know what to do... all will be revealed!)
6.30pm: Meet outside Hertford lodge. Then sort out the fruit and veg into boxes according to the number of orders we have.
12-2pm: Collect the Essentials order. Meet outside the front of Hertford College and wait for the essentials van to arrive; the order then needs to be taken to the Van Norden room and then each persons order packed ready for later.
2.30-3pm: Meet at the Hertford lodge, then transport all required food from the Van Norden room to the Oxford Hub (this is all the fruit and veg boxes, all orders and the 2 large plastic boxes with pop-up shop stock) using the cart. Set up the pop-up shop in the back room of the Oxford Hub
3-4pm: Distribute orders and help run the pop-up shop
4-5pm: Distribute orders and help run the pop-up shop
5-5.30pm: Shop closes at 5pm. Pack away the shop products, record the stock we have left and then transport all uncollected orders and the remaining stock back to the Van Norden room in Oxford (again using the cart)
